Say what you need to say

As time goes by they say the sadness and sense of loss fades...
Well that's just dandy isn't? What the heck do you do in the meantime? I'm not exactly sure this is the first time that I have had to walk down this road. So while I am walking down this mysterious road to which no one can tell me when it will end or what it will look like futher down the road, here's what it looks like for me...

at times the tears flow

some moments I see a Father and daughter walking down the road and wish that it was me with my Father

other times I pop open a bottle of beer and reminise of the times we were able to share

sometimes I just am quiet...soletude, I suppose

and at other times a song hits my heart and I don't know why until I pay close attention
to the lyrics and realize that it makes me think of my Father

And with that I leave you with a link to listen to the song titled "Say" by John Mayer on my myspace page www.myspace.com/t_rockingthenations also I have included the text to the song below...here's a suggestion open two browsers and read the lyrics as you listen to the song.

I LOVE YOU DAD AND I MISS YOU!

Take all of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all of your so-called problems
Better put them in quotations

Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say

Walking like a one man army
Fighting with the shadows in your head
Living out the same old moment
Knowing you’d be better off instead
If you could only

Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say

Have no fear for giving in
Have no fear for giving over
You better know that in the end
It’s better to say too much
Than never to say what you need to say again

Even if your hands are shaking
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closing
Do it with a heart wide open

Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say

(Fade)
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say

Some great stuff...from Shawn Bolz

Hi All - I just wanted to share an email I got this week - it is a message from Shawn Bolz about BREAKTHROUGH in California! This message really excited me because of what God had spoken to Teruah and I about traveling through California from October through November and praying and declaring over the entire state. If you haven't read this yet - please enjoy this good news for God's Beloved - California!

Shawn Bolz:"The Release of Breakthrough in California!" (Not Another Cliche Breakthrough Word)

Since January, something has been stirring up in California! Recently one of our friends from England came to California for a month-long "prayer journey." She entered into deep intercession for our ministry, along with one of our other team members. Days and days of intercession went by until one day, they had a "power encounter." Our friend from England saw an angel and said the angel's name was "Breakthrough." The angel had come to bring revival to California and breakthrough for our ministry, our city and the state. She had seen this angel of breakthrough at the beginning of February over a few different encounters, and when she shared this with me, I was encouraged but it did not fully register. In the past ministry I was involved in, WhiteDove Ministries, we did a series of conferences on a similar encounter that Bob Jones and Randy Demain had with an angel of breakthrough who was instrumental in revival. Much happened, but I was not personally impacted at the time, at least not in a visible way. I was not discouraged because I saw other people, places and regions impacted. I personally just didn't have a breakthrough. I thought perhaps our friend from England was picking up on these encounters and applying them to us. However, I found out that she hadn't heard of these encounters and her encounter was completely separate from the others.

Visible Breakthrough Just Started Happening! What caught my attention was when many things we have been praying and believing for (during the two years we've been in Los Angeles) started to happen in the two weeks following the encounter our friend had in February. We had breakthrough with our ministry's 501(c)(3) non-profit filing which is now complete; I sold my house in an impossible market I left in Alabama, and was given the money to pay the significant loss that occurred as a result of the sale; and several of our team members have had breaks in the entertainment industry. Also during this period of time, a significant breakthrough happened for one of our key leaders who's been given an incredible position to help rebuild an African nation from a governmental level and to advocate for aids in the nations. We knew something was up!

I recently went to a conference with Randy Demain who had a previous encounter in Nigeria, while on a ministry trip in 2004, with who he also called "the angel of breakthrough." This angel had been involved with the charismatic preacher, Benson Idahosa, during the great Nigerian revivals of the 1990s. Bob Jones had a similar encounter later with similar details about this angel of breakthrough being released in America (click here to read). In February, I told Randy about our friend's encounter with the angel named Breakthrough, and he looked surprised. Randy said the presence of the angel had left him and the Lord told him that he was taking breakthrough somewhere else for a while, however, the angel of breakthrough would be back with Randy in the future! Randy said, "So that is where he is!"Randy then began to unravel what he has seen happening when he prays for breakthrough in a church, city or region.
I believe it can be summed up in the following process:

Consecration/purification of Believers. Breaking through of promises given to Believers and the purposes for their lives, as well as for the harvesting of the harvesters. The release of Believers into all the world to bring the Kingdom and give Jesus His reward!

Our church has been in phase one and partially in the second phase of this word (although there has been evangelism and placement into the secular arena lately that has been beautiful). Lou Engle and TheCallOn February 24, two significant things happened to us. Lou Engle and approximately 50 members of his team from "TheCall" came to my house in Hollywood to pray. We prayed over Hollywood and California, and during this time, I felt led to talk to them about the angel of breakthrough. I began to see that Lou Engle, who has been an intercessor for California for over 20 years, was about to see a breakthrough in the answers to many of his prayers. We were also reminded of a word he gave me at Harvest Rock Church in 2003. He had prophesied the following to me: "Son of California! Come home! You will be one of the main inheritors of my prayers for the last 17 years of revival in California!" This was a few years before I moved out to California. As we reminisced about the word he previously gave me, Lou and TheCall team prayed again for us to inherit the prayers that went before us. I knew I was not only standing for myself, but for Believers in the land who have hoped for radical things to happen in their lifetimes and for California to be ripe for revival again.

On the same day we all prayed with Lou Engle, our friend from England and I shared about the breakthrough angel with our church body in Studio City, California. I loved the language because it put total emphasis on this angel being empowered to release a breakthrough so we can see Jesus and bring Him everything He deserves—the fullness of His reward! What if God is about to break through again in a historic revival? Bob Jones had prophesied to us that by 2010 we would begin to see a measure of revival, and by 2012 revival would be historic! When I was with Lou Engle and his team, I realized that 2009 is a countdown year toward promise. I really felt this word was for them personally, but now I also see a corporate dimension to this prophetic parable. We are in a countdown year.

Staking My Dream

On February 25, I had a dream I believe is significant and specific to California (but feel free to take it if you are from another region). In the dream I went to the store and bought "22 stakes." I painted the word "breakthrough" on eleven of the stakes and also painted images of "keys and crowns." I left the other eleven stakes plain. In the dream I went to 11 regions in California during 2009, with an emphasis on the timeframe of March through June. I presented a stake to different pastors/ministry leaders throughout California—to stake the land out for breakthrough to happen for them and for their region. The painted stake was kept for their ministry, but the plain stake was taken to a significant place in their region. I had the ministry leader pound the plain stake into the ground to mark a covenant—declaring that in our lifetime, there would be historic breakthrough in politics, entertainment, business, education, family and Church throughout the State of California. In the dream I also asked the California pastors to begin to release "stories of breakthrough" on the Internet! I knew it was the Hebrews 10:24 principle: "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." In the dream it was important that Believers in California hear from each other and spur each other toward the love of Christ as a state. I saw as we did this, God would release a strategy as contained in Hebrews 10:25, "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching." We are about to have historic breakthrough "revival reports" from our very state! When I woke up I knew God was marking out territory in California, to inherit for His purposes. I knew we were entering into a "season of consecration" with a measure of breakthrough which is a "preparation season." I also knew it was going to be easier than ever to find unity among the churches that are centered around "the desire for the love of God" to visit our state. When I awoke from the dream, I was excited to realize that the 22 stakes also represented Isaiah 22:22, "I will place on His shoulder the key to the house of David; what He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open." We had just prayed this as a release over California with Lou Engle and TheCall team.
I also felt that the stakes were divided into two groups of eleven because God wants to release the Spirit of Revelation over California (see Ephesians 1:17), which is summed up by the attributes contained in Isaiah 11:1-4. God is also going to reclaim His purpose in this land one more time. Isaiah 11:11 states the following: "In that day the Lord will reach out His hand a second time to reclaim the remnant that is left of His people..." This passage represents the bringing together of God's people for His purpose.

You Are California's Breakthrough!
Whenever an area faces crises, like California is facing at this time, it's normally a set up for God to shine His marvelous light. In this time our economy is threatened, our politics are failing, our education system is in turmoil, and our families are in crises. But there is a God of breakthrough who has a Kingdom that is higher then what we see. The strategy of Heaven is to release the GOOD NEWS of who Jesus is, and of His Kingdom, to cause us not to fail but to THRIVE in love and good works. The KINGDOM of CHRISTIANS is the ANSWER for THIS SEASON in CALIFORNIA! I encourage pastors, business owners, entertainers, politicians, educators, and families in California to come into "prayer agreement" with the Scriptures just mentioned (Ephesians 1:17, Isaiah 22:22, Isaiah 11:1-3, and Isaiah 11:11) over your family, occupation, and the land itself. One of the names of God in Hebrew is Baal-Perazim which means "Master of the Breakthrough." This is seen in 2 Samuel 5 when David defeated his enemies in a land he named after this mighty principle.

For those in Los Angeles, we just found out that in the center of the city, there is a plaque which states that 11 men, 11 woman, and 22 children came to pioneer the great City of Angels! Our city was formed with 11:11 and 22 in mind! This is just one of the dozens of signs we've seen in the natural to confirm what is happening in the Spirit.I will be going throughout the state during the rest of the year—walking out my dream in the natural. I don't know if we will be doing this publicly or privately, but we would love to report on what is happening as we walk this out. We would also like to hear about some of the breakthrough testimonies of what happens with YOU. If you are a pastor and want to respond to this word, please contact my office at office@expression58.org. If you have had a testimony of breakthrough since January 2009, please share it with us! We will be trying to go to all 11 places (which as of yet have not been identified) during the next few months. Pray with us for the God of breakthrough to come to California! TeRuAh'S ThOuGhTs

I have to go off on a tangent for a minute and express my thoughts about something...forgive me if this offends you, but please first consider why you are offended. Is it because this actually resonates with you? Are you someone who uses this excuse as well? Or is it because you think my opinion is way off?

So here it goes... I have had many conversations with Christians from all over, in these conversations I often hear the following statement:

"This is where God has me right now and I am just on the path
that He is having me to go down."
or
"Well I know that I am where I am because I just haven't figured
what I am not doing or what I am doing wrong so I can be blessed
and be able to have and do the things I really want in and for my life."

(in response to the 1st statement)
Now all in all that is not a bad response BUT when it is your only response as to what you are doing or going after when you are totally unsatisfied with your life and where you are. As well as an excuse for not having the guts to go after your dreams. Then in that case, that response really pisses me off! I'm sorry but it does! It is an absolute insult in my opinion to such a creative, loving God that sacrificed His only Son so that we could be free.

It is for FREEDOM that we have been set free!

It also makes God sound like some entity that doesn't really care about your dreams, desires, or interests. It gives people the image of our God as a God who doesn't want His creative creation to have a brain for themselves. That He just wants robots to "go down the right (only) path" even when they are completely dissatisfied. I'm sorry but that is not the kind of God that I serve.

I am so grateful for the time that I have been able to spend at Bethel Church in Redding, CA.(http://www.ibethel.org/) It has completely rocked my image of who I thought God is. My God not only created me to serve Him and fulfill His purpose on earth, He created me to co-create with Him. Meaning we are partners with The Creator! That means that we get to have a mind of our own. We get to dream. He didn't give us a mind so we could just be brainwashed and simply follow commands. He gave us a mind that is SANCTIFIED, HOLY, and free to DREAM.

Yes I believe that God has a specific destiny for each of us. But again we were not designed to be robots and simply follow commands. He has written our destiny but we get to make choices how it ends up being carried out. We have the freedom to fully explore everything that interests us. He wants us to try and dream even bigger dreams then He does for us. You know Christ was our example, and with an example that means that it is just a prototype, it is not always going to look the same. He healed the sick, raised the dead, set captives free, challenged the scholars and religious heads of His day. And you know what He said in the end? He said this is only the beginning..."you will do greater things than I." He wants us to dream with Him! Ask for greater, experience greater and do greater things.

(in response to the 2nd statement)
In part that second statement has some truth. But again if it is your understanding as to why you are not seeing the things that you are praying and fighting for then you have totally missed it. Yes there is such a thing as reaping and sowing BUT again God is not a ruler who sits on His throne deciding whether you have jumped through enough hoops so that He can finally bless you. He sets us up every day of our life to receive His love, gifts and blessings. It is His greatest desire for you to be blessed way beyond measure. How else would you explain grace if this is your image of God. Grace is something we are given that we do not deserve or could ever earn! Why would God go through the trouble of creating someone in His image if He constantly had to be judging whether they were really good enough to receive His goodness. He created us for relationship with Him, He wanted to share intimacy and His entire Kingdom with man. Why, because it is our choice to have that relationship with Him. We get to choose to love Him. Isn't it so much better to have a friend you can share everything with that willingly, without force has chosen to be that friend to you?

Free will doesn't just mean that we get to choose whether to follow Christ or not. Free will means that we have an overall destiny but we get to choose to take road A, B, C, D or E (and on) to get there. Have fun, remember this is a journey, an adventure!

It is for FREEDOM that we have been set free!

How Am I Doing? (Teruah)

Well...let's see, it sure has been a heck of a year already. So just to update you all a bit, in December I found out that my Father Glen (biological-lives in Texas) was not doing so well. I knew that something had been wrong for some time but doctors were not able to diagnose him with anything. On December 26th his wife had him admitted to the mental hospital for the 3rd time, claiming he was acting very aggressive and breaking into the neighbors house. Some of this was confirmed when I spoke with the mental hospital, although while he was there they did find that he had severe double pneumonia. I believe he was trying to find help which is why he ended up at the neighbors house in the middle of the night.

One night in worship at Blazing Fire (my mom, dad, sister & brother-in-laws church) as I was sharing with my sister what God was saying to me she shared what He had been saying to her and in that moment it was confirmed to me what I had been hearing for the last year was true. He was going home (heaven) to be with Pappa. This was really hard for me to digest being that God had really been doing some reconciliation with him and I over the last 3 years. I just didn't want to let go of the possibility of having the father daughter relationship with him that I had always wanted.

So when I heard he was in the hospital with pneumonia and had not been able to say other then yes or no for the last 2 months I knew time was running short. I thank God so much that he absolutely prepared me for this and has been walking so closely to me during this time, I could not have made it without that.

When Anna's sister asked us to drive her to Texas for school in January at first we were hesitant, until we felt like God was planning the trip. So we said yes, He provided above and beyond what we needed to finance the trip, thank you Daddy! After dropping her sister off in Dallas we headed up to Amarillo to visit my father. We stayed 4 nights so in all I was able to spend 5 days with him. He was looking better by the time I was leaving, but he had not been eating for the last month so the day before I left they put in a feeding tube. My sister decided to go out and see him as well and would be there a couple days after I left. A friend of ours had offered us a house to stay in while we were in the Dallas area and suggested that after visiting my father that we go back to Dallas and spend a couple days to just rest and hang out with Pappa. After being in Amarillo seeing my father in such bad shape we decided to take the offer. We both really needed that time and are forever grateful. We ended up spending 5 days of resting and recouping. The night before we were going to head back to NY, I got a call from my sister as well as my step-sister that my Father wasn't doing good and had pulled out the feeding tube and now his wife had to decide whether to reinsert it or send him to hospice car. Because God had provided more then enough we were able to extend the rental car and go back up to Amarillo.

When I arrived he had seriously deteriorated and it was just a matter of time. Honestly I thought that it would be at least another month. Well Pappa took him home 2 days later on January 25th.

So how am I doing?

Well it is not easy to say goodbye to someone you love no matter how close you were or were not. It has been much more difficult than I imagined. Honestly I thought that I was prepared and would not really go through a drawn out grieving process, well I was wrong. Most days I don't even really know what to feel or what I am feeling. Sometimes I am just walking down the street or drinking a coffee and I realise that I will never be able to have a moment like that with my father. That is when it really hurts. I no longer have the opportunity to call him up and tell him I love him or drink a coffee or go down to a Too Tum Totum for a coke. I think it is so much harder then I expected because not only am I grieving the loss of him but also the loss of a relationship I never got to have. Most days I am just really quiet and want to alone, zone out, watch a movie or just fumble around on the internet. Conversation with me has been very difficult and far to come by, Anna can vouch for that. I guess I am just quiet because I am at a loss for words or don't want to express my sadness which will result in crying. Don't get me wrong I have definitely allowed myself to cry and have spent nights crying myself to sleep, I just don't want to cry every time I talk about him.

Anna's friend invited us to come up to Canada for a couple weeks and just relax. We were both really looking forward to this. Well we have ended up staying up here for a month! It has been so refreshing! I have had time to just process, zone out and try to sort out all that has gone on in the last couple months. The grieving process is moving along and all in all I am doing ok. God is good and I know that my father is hanging out with Pappa.

Thank you all so very much for keeping me in prayer and asking how I am doing. Thank you Thank you Thank you! Please continue to keep me in your prayers and continue asking how I am doing!

Teruah

Yes, WE ARE ALIVE!!

Hi all!
Many apologies that this is so late in coming...Teruah and I have been in Canada for the last 4 weeks visiting a friend of mine, and tomorrow we re-enter the States.

It's been a quiet 4 weeks, but we are not complaining! We sort of took a break from everything and just rested and visited. I hadn't seen my friend, Darlene, since May 2005 just before I left for Africa. So just "hanging out" was nice. We were shown around Toronto one day ( I think maybe it was the coldest day we were here!) and took a side trip to Port Perry (a quaint little town with storefront shops all along the street) another day. We were able to meet her 2 grandsons (ages 8 and 4yrs) and played bingo, "I spy," and hide and go seek and had a blast! All around it was a very pleasant and relaxing time. Thank you, Darlene for hosting us!!
Tomorrow we will head back down to New York for a few days and from there will be going to see my mom and sister in Washington, Pennsylvania.

We'd appreciate your prayers for safe travel.

What's on our mind for the coming weeks?

(1) Visiting with my mom and sister in Pennsylvania for a couple weeks
(2) Traveling down to West Virginia to visit my dad and more family

(3) A trip to Washington, D.C.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers any time you think of us and we will keep you posted on our whereabouts! Also, we'd love to hear from any of you who want to write us - our joint email is: AnnaTeruah@gmail.com and both of us have individual email accounts that you are welcome to contact us at any time!

OK, well that's all for now, folks. I'm gonna try my best to get Teruah to write ya'll the next time! (-: It's about time we hear from her, huh?

Thanks to those of you who have been emailing, calling and keeping in touch with us! It's been nearly 3 months since we left California - and I for one, am missing it! But it's been good to be "home" too. Things will be much prettier here in a few weeks when Spring hits the East Coast.

All my love,
Anna

Teruah's father

UPDATE!!!!

Amarillo, Texas

January 24, 2009

For those of you who may be wondering, we made it to Dallas, TX safe and sound and spent a few days there with my sister, Leah. Afterwards, we were able to go and visit Teruah's father in Amarillo, TX for a few days. He was in the hospital and not doing well. The doctor's believed that he had a condition known as "Pick's Disease" which is a condition like Alzheimer's that slowly deteriorates a person's mental capabilities as well as physical capabilities. Unfortunately, Teruah's father declined very quickly. She was able to vist with him several days and then we returned to Dallas to rest for a few days before our trip back to New York. The night before we were to leave however, we received a call that Glen, Teruah's father had taken a turn for the worse. God blessed us to be able to extend our car rental and we were ablr to come back up to Amarillo and visit her father again, this time with Teruah's sister from California. Both girls were able to visit and be with Glen for two days and on Saturday, he went home to be with Jesus! (Where I am certain there is a HUGE party going on in his honor...) The funeral is to be held tomorrow, and I would love it if you would pray for Teruah and for her ister Tammy and their entire family in this time of loss.

Thanks for reading - you will probably hear more from us once we are certain what our next step is. Blessings - and thanks for praying for us!

Anna

New York to Dallas...

Hello, one and all!

here's a picture of us trekking across frozen Lake Erie....just kidding!!!

Teruah and I are in Western New York as I write this. Christmas and New Year's were spent with my grandmother and my sister here. My grandma lives in a tiny town called Silver Creek with beautiful old Victorian houses and large old churches that ring out hymns every evening from their bell towers. It really is picturesque. The snow was falling as Teruah and I took a walk the other evening - it was really beautiful and peaceful. The only thing we are short on is transportation ( since grandmas think their grandkids are perpetually 5 yrs. old...) and internet service (hence the lack of blog and pictures!).
In a few short days we will be embarking on a trip to Texas. We'd appreciate your prayers as we go. Leah, my sister, will be attending Christ for the Nations in Dallas, TX and so Teruah and I volunteered to drive her down there with all her luggage.

It proved to be good timing, as Teruah's father, Glen Hess, has been sick with pneumonia and also has had some pretty major health issues going on due to a stroke some months ago. We both feel that the timing is being orchestrated by the Lord. So, we will drive down to Dallas, a 21 hour drive, and then up to Amarillo, 7 more hours...We hope to spend a couple days there so Teruah can visit with her father. After which, we will head back up to New York again. Much as we'd like to KEEP the rental car (haha) I'm sure the company will be wanting it back.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers. We have not abandoned our hope to pray over cities and capitols here in the East. We are just moving as we have the funding and as God opens a door for us.

Some requests to be praying for us:

1. A Car! Mine was officially given away as of the 17th of December! yay! I know God has great things in store for us - so even as I miss the freedom of having a vehicle, I am rejoicing already for the new and remembering that the Lord spoke to me that He was trying to bless me even greater when I asked why I had to give it up. God is unfathomably good...we believ we will have a great means of transportation.

2. Finances! All of our needs have been met so far, thank you for praying and please continue. If anyone wishes to give financially, simply get in contact with Teruah or I. Send an email to annateruah@gmail.com to do so...

3. Direction! Please continue to ask the Lord to direct and guide us. Pray that we would hear clearly and have the means to respond quickly to His voice. Also that we would continue to grow in our individual relationships with God, and we would be a blessing wherever we go, and claim the land wherever our feet tread! Pray as we travel to Texas there will be divine appointments and encounters!

We love you all - thanks for being a part of our lives and thanks for taking time to read!! More to come very soon!!!
