Teruah's father

UPDATE!!!!

Amarillo, Texas

January 24, 2009

For those of you who may be wondering, we made it to Dallas, TX safe and sound and spent a few days there with my sister, Leah. Afterwards, we were able to go and visit Teruah's father in Amarillo, TX for a few days. He was in the hospital and not doing well. The doctor's believed that he had a condition known as "Pick's Disease" which is a condition like Alzheimer's that slowly deteriorates a person's mental capabilities as well as physical capabilities. Unfortunately, Teruah's father declined very quickly. She was able to vist with him several days and then we returned to Dallas to rest for a few days before our trip back to New York. The night before we were to leave however, we received a call that Glen, Teruah's father had taken a turn for the worse. God blessed us to be able to extend our car rental and we were ablr to come back up to Amarillo and visit her father again, this time with Teruah's sister from California. Both girls were able to visit and be with Glen for two days and on Saturday, he went home to be with Jesus! (Where I am certain there is a HUGE party going on in his honor...) The funeral is to be held tomorrow, and I would love it if you would pray for Teruah and for her ister Tammy and their entire family in this time of loss.

Thanks for reading - you will probably hear more from us once we are certain what our next step is. Blessings - and thanks for praying for us!

New York to Dallas...

Hello, one and all!

here's a picture of us trekking across frozen Lake Erie....just kidding!!!

Teruah and I are in Western New York as I write this. Christmas and New Year's were spent with my grandmother and my sister here. My grandma lives in a tiny town called Silver Creek with beautiful old Victorian houses and large old churches that ring out hymns every evening from their bell towers. It really is picturesque. The snow was falling as Teruah and I took a walk the other evening - it was really beautiful and peaceful. The only thing we are short on is transportation ( since grandmas think their grandkids are perpetually 5 yrs. old...) and internet service (hence the lack of blog and pictures!).
In a few short days we will be embarking on a trip to Texas. We'd appreciate your prayers as we go. Leah, my sister, will be attending Christ for the Nations in Dallas, TX and so Teruah and I volunteered to drive her down there with all her luggage.

It proved to be good timing, as Teruah's father, Glen Hess, has been sick with pneumonia and also has had some pretty major health issues going on due to a stroke some months ago. We both feel that the timing is being orchestrated by the Lord. So, we will drive down to Dallas, a 21 hour drive, and then up to Amarillo, 7 more hours...We hope to spend a couple days there so Teruah can visit with her father. After which, we will head back up to New York again. Much as we'd like to KEEP the rental car (haha) I'm sure the company will be wanting it back.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers. We have not abandoned our hope to pray over cities and capitols here in the East. We are just moving as we have the funding and as God opens a door for us.

Some requests to be praying for us:

1. A Car! Mine was officially given away as of the 17th of December! yay! I know God has great things in store for us - so even as I miss the freedom of having a vehicle, I am rejoicing already for the new and remembering that the Lord spoke to me that He was trying to bless me even greater when I asked why I had to give it up. God is unfathomably good...we believ we will have a great means of transportation.

2. Finances! All of our needs have been met so far, thank you for praying and please continue. If anyone wishes to give financially, simply get in contact with Teruah or I. Send an email to annateruah@gmail.com to do so...

3. Direction! Please continue to ask the Lord to direct and guide us. Pray that we would hear clearly and have the means to respond quickly to His voice. Also that we would continue to grow in our individual relationships with God, and we would be a blessing wherever we go, and claim the land wherever our feet tread! Pray as we travel to Texas there will be divine appointments and encounters!

We love you all - thanks for being a part of our lives and thanks for taking time to read!! More to come very soon!!!
